Yu gi oh demotion card?

okay i have a demotion card it says downgrade the monster equpped with this card by 2 levels, now if i attached that to a monster such as yomi ship that has 3 stars or a level of 3, would it make it a level one? or if i used it on a card that had 2 stars or a level of 2 would it get arid of its level and would i still be able to battle with it? want to know for a defence against a blind destruction, which destroys a monster equal to the number rolled on a dice, thanks

For the Yomi Ship Card yes.

And if you use it on a Level 2 monster the level would be 1 because a monster can't go to 0 so you could attack with it.
