Question:

Yucca Removal of Huge Plants?

The chainsaw took awhile and we got large portions of Yucca base which is very wet and heavy. The root is massive beyond what I saw described on the prior resolved plant remarks. It has taken three large bins filled to rid ourselves of the 18 large trees that had developed over 5 years and after having been cut back prior who knows how many times by prior owners of this mission home. Any suggestions on how to dig out something the size a backhoe would need to dig, yet in a position where a backhoe can't go? I used some sea salt to try and dry it up and I've black plastic covered it to try and smother it out...any suggestions on how long this may take? Any better ideas?

  1. To remove a yucca cane plant simply grab the cane and twist the cane upward until it pulls loose from the soil.
