Yugioh: Relinquished?

Question

His ability says that once per turn he can take a monster and equipt it to itself. say the opponent destroys the monster equipted to Relinquished, could I then during his turn take controle of a monster to save it? It didnt say it had to be on my turn the ability activates. So anyone know if I could or not?

well you can only equip one monster during your turn only. So if your opponent destroys the monster equiped he can then attack relinquished with another monster which will destroy relinquished.  if your opponent destroys relinquished equiped monster only, during YOUR  next turn only you can equip one of your opponents monster to you
