Yugioh Spell and trap Counters?

Question

I was wondering bout spell and trap counters. Can you guys explain how it works? Like, it's counter>quick play>normal Can u trap jammer a sakuretsu?Why or why not? Can you mst a reigeki Break? why or why not? can u 7 tools a trap jammer? why and why not? LIke those are the type of questions i'm confused with.

counter cards are usually traps, and they're often used to negate the activation of some other spell or trap card that's activated, but often require a cost. You can magic jammer a sakuretsu since the magic jammer says It negates and destroys. I don't know what a mst card is, so I can't answer that question. You can use 7 tools on magic jammer because 7 tools negates and destroys.

If you have any questions just look at the rule book. Every thing is explained in there. What your asking about is the spell speeds of the cards. spell speed 1 consists of normal, field, equip, and ritual spell cards as well as most effect monsters, basically any thing that you can only activate on your turn. speed 2 is all traps except counter traps, quick play spells, and multi trigger monsters Spell speed 3 is Counter Trap Cards, no cards can be activated in response to these cards except other counter trap cards. To answer your questions, Yes you can use trap jammer on Sakuretsu because trap jammer is spell speed 3. Yes you can MST Raigeki Break, but it would be pointless sense MST doesn't negate, and yes you can use 7 tools on a trap jammer because both are spell speed 3.

I'll make things simple:

> Trap Counter card can negate the activation of a card and as well as destroying it (if the text stated that). This kind of card is useful in many situations.

> Card that states "destroy" the card but doesn't say "negate the activation/effect" are only useful in limited situation because it only destroy the card, but the effect of activation still applies. This makes it useful only against Continuous card.

For example, you can negate the activation and destroy Reigeki by using cards like Magic Jammer, but you CANNOT negate the effect of Reigeki if you chain with MST (Mystical Space Typhoon) or Reigeki Break.

If your opponent uses cards like Swords of Revealing Light, both Magic Jammer and MST can counter it since SoRL has continuous effect that must stay in-play to be active.

umm well i dont really understand your first question but your second one about the cards ill explain and maybe ill end up answering your question!

id sakuretsu is played, you can activate trap jammer on it! and it will negate the activiation and destroy it! and no you cannot mst a raigeki break! well you can but that would just be dumb! because mst says destroy 1 s/t card on the field, and it says nothing about negating the activation! so raigeki breaks still would work!

you can use 7 tools against any trap card! just make sure you have enough lifepoints! so 7 tools can stop trap jammer, solemn judgments, raigeki break! any trap card!
