Yugioh quesiton regarding Dark Horus.?

Question

If I use smashing ground to destroy my opponent's Dark Horus. Does my opponent still gets to use Dark Horus' effect to special summon a dark level four monster?

yes his effect starts a chain he dies after his effect kicks in but theres others ways to stop it like divine wrath or you can use other cards for his effect to activate and he cant do it anymore

Yes it does, because its effect starts a chain, so Horus would be destroyed and your opponent gets a monster.
