  1. When Caius is Tribute Summoned his controler immediately selects a card to remove from play, but it not actually removed yet. If you have a card to chain to his ignition effect like Bottomless Trap Hole you then activate it. The chain then resolves backwards, so Caius is removed from play and then the selected card is also removed from play. The only effect monster that needs to actually be on the field for his effect to remain in place is a Continuous Effect Monster. However, if you activate a card like Divine Wrath, which specifically negates a monster's effect then Caius's effect would not have taken root, then Divine Wrath wouldve destroyed him.

  2. since bottomless doesnt negate the effect , your opponents monarch can still destroy a card, but then the monarch will die. pulling the rug will negate the effect and summoning so that is why monarchs will die and not be able to destroy anything if against pulling the rug.

basically you just have to read the card carefully, no where does it say that bottomless can negate an effect.

  3. The effect of caius is not negated by bottomless so it still destryos a card. But if you activated a counter trap like solemn then the effect will not activate. Oh and check your mail, plz.

  4. hes first has to choose a card to remove then he asks u if u have a response and then u can chain bottomless trap hole

i run caius in my deck and they done that to me

    hope that helps

  5. bottomless doesnt negate the effect it just removes caius from play ... the effect still activates and if a card other than bottomless is targeted then it is still removed from play

    hope this helps

  6. im with  ^

  7. You could activate bottomless killing caius, but he'd still get to kill any of your monsters
