Yuliya Efimova conquers Women’s 50m breaststroke semi-finals: Day four – Russian LC Nationals
Yuliya Efimova conquered the semi-finals of Women’s 50m breaststroke on fourth day of the Russian Long Course Nationals in Moscow on Saturday, April 21.
Efimova demonstrated her astounding efforts in the single lap breaststroke event and qualified into the playoff by producing a time of 30.35 seconds.
She was followed by Dania Deeva, who remained 1.54 seconds slower from her and tapped the wall with the timing of 31.89 seconds.
Deeva was trailed by Valentina Artemyeva, who snared third qualifying spot of the discipline by producing an effort of 32.20 seconds. Artemyeva was trailed by Sofia Spodarenko, who ended her swim in fourth best place by touching the wall with the timing of 32.26 seconds.
After that, Andrey Grechin dominated the semi-finals of Men’s 50m freestyle as he posted a time of 21.82 seconds.
His scintillating effort remained nearly half body length faster from Vladimir Morozov and Oleg Tikhobaev, who secured second best qualification spot of the race by posting an identical time of 22.21 seconds.
Similarly, the duo was followed by Sergey Fesikov, who stayed 0.03 seconds slower from them and emerged on the finishing end as fourth best finisher with the timing of 22.24 seconds.
Afterwards, Anastasia Zueva astonished the crowd by occupying top finishing spot in the Women’s 50m backstroke semi-finals. Zueva stayed comfortably ahead of her following swimmer and qualified into the playoff with an effort of 27.86 seconds.
She was trailed by Dania Ustinova, who remained 1.06 seconds slower and tapped the wall with an effort of 28.92 seconds. The third spot of the discipline was secured by Nadeshda Vinjukova, who completed her swim in a time of 29.54 seconds.
Subsequently, Nikolay Skvortsov won the semi-finals of Men’s 200m butterfly, as he touched the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 56.97 seconds.
He was followed by Maksim Ganichin, who remained nearly three seconds slower and hit the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 59.51 seconds while Igor Akhljustin ended third with the timing of 2 minutes and 00.93 seconds.
Furthermore, these finalists will race against each other in the final rounds of their respective events.
