Yuma Kosaka and Andrii Govorov shine in Dubai: 2011 FINA Swimming World Cup
Japan’s Yuma Kosaka and Ukraine’s Andrii Govorov raised the expectations of their fans in Dubai during the heats of the 2011 FINA Swimming World Cup series in United Arab Emirates. The event was held from October 7-8. The session of the competition conducted
the Men’s 100m IM and Women’s 50m butterfly heats.
Initially, Japan’s young athlete, Kosaka burst out and topped the Men’s 100m Individual Medley heat by posting a mouth shattering time of 54.98 seconds. Yuma Kosaka’s compatriot, Japan’s Masafumi Yamaguchi earned second position by posting a matchless time
of 55.98 seconds, while Austria’s Dinko Jukic claimed third place with a mark of 57.64 seconds.
South Africa’s Chad Le Clos picked fourth position by submitting an impressive time of 59.42 seconds, whereas, United Arab Emirates’ Ahmed Obaid Al Jasmi settled for fifth spot with a time of 59.69 seconds. Meanwhile, Tiago Ferrao of United Arab Emirates
wound up sixth with a mark of 1 minute and 00.63 seconds. India’s Jayaprakash Agnishwar settled for seventh place with a time of 1 minute and 00.64 seconds.
On the other side, Andrii Govorov of Ukraine picked first position in Men’s 50m butterfly heat by posting a winning time of 23.41 seconds. Russia’s Evgeny Korotyshkin settled for second position with a mark of 24.09 seconds, while Kenya’s Jason Dunford earned
third position with a time of 24.16 seconds.
United Arab Emirates’ Tiago Ferrao got fourth spot by posting a matchless time of 24.54 seconds, while Russia’s Andrey Tambovskiy settled for fifth place with a mark of 24.85 seconds. In addition, Ramadhan Vyombo of Kenya picked sixth spot by posting a time
of 25.30 seconds and Ahmed Obaid Al Jasmi of United Arab Emirates claimed seventh position with a time of 25.61 seconds.
Ahmed Obaid Al Jasmi’s compatriot, Mohammed Ghaferi Al Humaid earned eighth place with a time of 25.75 seconds, while Syria’s Rami Anis settled for ninth place with a time of 25.77 seconds. Additionally, Russia’ Alexander Kudashev picked tenth spot with
a time of 25.84 seconds and United Arab Emirates’ young athlete, Obaid Bakheet Al Jasmi earned eleventh position by posting a time of 25.90 seconds. Last, but not the least, Obaid Saeed Al Jesmi settled for twelfth place with a time of 26.04 seconds.
The arena acknowledged the efforts of all swimmers, while the best athletes confirmed their places for the final heats.
