Yushin Okami to fight Tim Boetsch in middleweight division on UFC 144 – UFC news
Yushin Okami take on Tim Boetsch in a three-round bout scheduled to take place on the main card of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) pay-per-view UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson.
UFC is making a huge comeback in Japan after the passage of 12 long years and therefore has decided to put up an extended special edition of four hours which will consist of seven brutal main card brawls.
Yushin, infamous as the ‘Thunder’, is one of the respected MMA brawlers in Japan. He is currently ranked as the number two middleweight in MMA Weekly’s ranking. The 30-year-old Okami has been in a total 32 mixed martial art bouts and came out victorious
in 26.
His stats and brawling capabilities are pretty intimidating. Basically a knock out specialist the Japanese sensation has collected nine of his total wins by kayo, four by submission, and 12 by collecting either a unanimous or split decision. In addition
Yushin has been fighting in UFC octagon since 2006 and has an impressive win-loss scenario of 10-3.
The most lethal aspect of the thunder is his resilience and kayo ability. He is a hardcore brawler who takes his opponent all the way throughout the brawl and does not give up. He has collected wins against names such as Mark Munoz, Nate Marquardt, and Alan
Belcher. Okami is coming from a knockout loss by the fists of Anderson Silva and has also lost brawl by a unanimous decision against Chael Sonnen.
Tim Boetsch, the American ‘Barbarian’, on the contrary is completely overshadowed by Okami’s experience. Tim has been in a total 18 brawls and came out triumphant in 14. An analysis of his winning style shows that he uses both the knockout facet and the
submission tactic to take out his opponent.
Tim is on a two-win streak and has nailed Nick Ring and Kendall Grove unanimously. The competition for the American will be tough since Okami not only has the home advantage in his corner but also surpasses the 31-year-old Tim by his experience, kayo ability,
resilience, agility, height, and greater arm reach.
The duo will collide in the middleweight division and the pay-per-view will be televised on February 25, 2012.
