Yuval Safra claims 400m freestyle title in Kranj: 2011 Slovenia Short Course Nationals
Day one’s evening session of the 2011 Slovenia Short Course Nationals ended with many attention grabbing swims of athletes at the arena in Kranj, Slovenia, on Thursday, November 24.
More importantly, Yuval Safra went on to win the Men’s 400m freestyle crown in a winning time of 3 minutes and 58.08 seconds. In the meantime, Martin Bau grabbed silver medal in the respective race by banging the finishing blockade in a mark of 3 minutes
and 58.13 seconds and Rok Mihovec settled at third place in a time of 01.20 seconds.

In addition, Emil Tahirovic topped Men's 100m breast-stroke race by striking the finishing divider in a triumphant mark of 1 minute and 00.90 seconds. After the race, Robert Vovk earned second place honours by thumping the finishing hurdle in a time of 1 minute
and 01.53 seconds and Matjaz Markic settled at third spot in a mark of 1 minute and 02.31 seconds.
Moreover, Lota Zala Gomezelj went on to win the Women’s 100m breast-stroke title in a time of 1 minute and 11.43 seconds. Pia Hocevar Mucic finished second by thrashing the finishing divider in a time of 1 minute and 12.21 seconds, while Tajda Topic settled
at third spot in a mark of 1 minute and 13.39 seconds.

Furthermore, Nina Sovinek took home the Women's 100m Individual Medley crown by hitting the finishing divider in a winning time of 1 minute and 03.50 seconds. In the meantime, Pia Pavlic finished second by claiming the finishing hurdle in a time of 1 minute
and 04.39 seconds and Sagmeister settled at third place in a mark of 1 minute and 04.51 seconds.
Last, but not the least, the Women’s 50 back-stroke title was taken over by Anja Carman in a winning blot of 28.56 seconds. Meanwhile, Pavlic got second position in the respective race by hitting the finishing fence in a time of 29.98 seconds and Anemari
Kosak settled at third spot in a mark of 30.11 seconds. Finally, the gold medallists were awarded cash prizes after the session’s conclusion.
