Ailing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364’s father feels his son’s treatment was a bit delayed, lamenting the fact that things could have been different today had the dashing all-rounder taken his advice to undergo a complete examination two years ago.
Yuvi’s father, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yograjsingh-Bhagsingh-Bhundel-c98307 told media reporters that he had advised the left-hander to get a thorough medical check up two years ago but his son brushed the concerns aside saying he was alright.
"I don't want to blame anyone. But I feel that things could have been different today,” rued a teary Yograj Singh while speaking to media reporters at his residence in Chandigarh on Monday.
Reminiscing the early sign of his son’s illness, two years ago, the dejected father said, “...Yuvi was playing in a T20 match at Mohali and played match-winning innings, in which after hitting a six he came running towards http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SK-Raina-c2539 and could be seen
coughing badly.”
Mr. Yograj said that after that match, he had advised the stylish left-hander to get himself checked up properly but the Indian all-rounder did not listen to his advice.
Yuvraj’s parents live separately. His father lives in Chandigarh while mother, Shabnam Singh lives in Gurgaon and the stylish left-hander is considered to be closer to his mother. Shabnam is currently with Yuvi in the United States where he is receiving
treatment for grade one lung cancer.
"Six months back the doctor who saw the laboratory reports of Yuvraj had pleaded that he should be taken to the U.S. for treatment. With folded hands, the doctor said that best treatment is available in the U.S. But I don't blame anyone," Yuvraj’s father
reiterated.
Yuvraj Singh, the prolific middle order batsman of India, was last week diagnosed with grade one lung cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy at the Cancer Research Institute in Boston.
"He is responding well to the treatment and god willing we should see him back in action very soon," said Mr. Yograj.
The promising all-rounder, who was adjudged as the Player of the tournament in the World Cup last year, has not played competitive cricket since October 2011.
"Yuvi is lion-hearted. He is a sher (lion). You will see him roar once again (on the field)," his father hoped.
