Yuvraj Singh dropped from Indian Test squad - ‘I can’t control my emotions all the time’
Yuvraj Singh has slowly but surely paved his way in the Indian Cricket team as one of the most dependable players but his statistics might not do justice to the true caliber of this fine cricketer. However, lately, Yuvraj has struggled with his form and
the recent decision by the Indian Cricket board to exclude him from the squad for the upcoming test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 has made the cricketer from India emotional and disillusioned at the same time.
Yuvraj Singh has reached a point in his career where he probably feels like a middle order batsman in the middle overs of a high scoring ODI game, slowly trudging his way in the most monotonous period of an otherwise exciting game. Starting his tenth year
playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, this man has had a roller coaster ride with the team and his ups and downs have given him much glory and much heart ache as well.
At a time, when he firmly believed that his career was about to take off, Yuvraj has been dropped from the squad second time in the last four months. The Asia Cup, that followed a disappointing World Twenty20 and the final nail in the coffin proving to be
the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 test series where he was ruled out of the second due to fever. The omission, according to him, was the “hardest part”. Instead, Suresh Raina stepped in the shoes of Yuvraj to score a debut Test Century. This makes it all the more harder for him.
Yuvraj gravely comprehends the complexities respect can take and has been more than generous with it to his peers. However, after 10 years it is exactly why he demands it for himself, through his cricket. Therefore, having been left out of India’s squad
makes him feel like a victim of his own destiny. He is no believer in setting big goals for himself and instead aims to keep his tomorrow simple. He simply aims to find his form and fitness to lead India in the 2011 World Cup.
India has currently been playing unconvincing cricket in their ODIs and their defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka in Dambula is a testament to that fact. The Indian batting collapsed on two occasions to almost 100 runs in the same series. They will most certainly
need Yuvraj since he is without a doubt their man for the glorious moment. Without him, the Indian middle order with the inclusion of younger players will be more than hollow.
"A lot of people say things about me, but they don't realize I have played 250 games. It's not like you just land up in the team, sit down and play 250 games. You can't survive like that in international cricket" Yuvraj lamented. Yuvraj was accused of showing
the crowd a finger in Sri Lanka after he alleged that the crowd had been abusive. However, he rubbished those claims later on saying “this is all media speculation. They always make it up... okay, I mean, most times, stuff is made up.”
However, stardom has also taken its toll on the Indian player and many would argue that it was his temper and ‘arrogance’ that has him sitting at home when India plays Australia later this year. He admits that he does not react much to criticism; however,
sometimes he feels the criticism is harsh and unacceptable and then he feels it is his need to call it unacceptable.
“This is what happened at the IPL this year, when it was said that I was underperforming. That is ridiculous, I won't accept that.” Yuvraj exclaimed. It is important that Yuvraj understands the value of modesty and it might exactly be the reason why the
BCCI chose to ignore him, since they must want a team effort and not the team clouded by the hyped up glory of a star.
