Yuvraj Singh finds support from captain MS Dhoni – Cricket News Update
Indian captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364, saying that the talented batsman has been undergoing a difficult phase and needs to be backed by the team.
After recovering from the finger injury that he picked up during the recent tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760.
On a batting friendly track at Eden Gardens, the left-handed batsman collected just 25 runs, as India posted a massive total of 631 runs in the first innings of the game, ended on Thursday, November 17, 2011. Yuvraj was reckless in the first game as well,
when he piled up just 23 and 18 runs in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Test.
He has been struggling with his form badly but Dhoni does not want him to worry, as he put his weight behind the 29-year-old batsman. The wicket-keeper batsman stated that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s World Cup hero should be given complete support by his team since he has been
going through a lean patch – something every player experiences in his career.
"Yes, he's going through a tough phase but it's important to show confidence on him. He has played really well against all the big bowlers especially in the ODI format which means he has talent to do well in Test format as well," Dhoni said after his team’s
emphatic win by an innings and 15 runs in the second Test at Kolkata.
The skipper feels that since Yuvraj remained in and out of the side recently due to his fitness issues, it is definitely hard for him to regain his touch quickly.
Yet, Dhoni expressed full confidence on his Southpaw, and hoped that the Punjabi boy will soon be at his best in every form of the game.
"One reason is that he has been in and out of the side. It's very difficult to back yourself. It's a bit tough on him. But hopefully he will recover and do well for India," the skipper said of Yuvraj who will be India’s key man in the upcoming five-ODI series
against the Caribbean Kings.
