Yuvraj Singh happy to be back in a cricket stadium – Cricket News Update
India’s left-handed batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, is in good spirits once again and said that he cannot wait to be playing cricket.
Yuvraj had a germ-cell tumour located between his two lungs and got medical treatment in the US. He returned back home earlier this month and is now working on his health so that he can make a comeback to international cricket.
The left-handed batsman came through the ranks of junior cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kenya-c752. Since then, the cricketer from Chandigarh has been a permanent member of the Indian limited-overs
squad. However, he has struggled over the years in the longer version of the sport.
Yuvraj led Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 last year in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but could not take part in the on-going season for obvious reasons. The left-handed batsman came to the stadium last night for Pune’s match against Deccan Chargers and spent some time
with his teammates.
He was seen in a very good mood during the match and said that watching the match between Pune and Deccan was a great experience for him.
“I am really happy to be back in a cricket stadium. Being in the ground obviously makes me feel better. I came here yesterday. Met a lot of people, met all my friends. I feel very special today,” he said.
Yuvraj was the Player of the Tournament during the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011 and played a massive role in India’s victory. He has gone through bad times recently and some of the cricket analysts raised questions about the future of Yuvraj as an international
cricketer but the stylish left-hander is geared up to revive his career.
“First, when I got diagnosed, it was hard for me to digest that I had cancer. But that’s the way life is. I was on a high with the World Cup win and wanted to peak from there. Unfortunately, my health wasn’t great. But I’ve fought a tough battle, it’s been
grueling for me and my family,” Yuvraj expressed.
