Yuvraj Singh has been named in the list of India’s T20 squad, which leaves for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 that begins in September.
The 30-year-old was grappling with germ-cell cancer in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Usa-c759 and has successfully recovered after undergoing chemotherapy. He returned to India in April to continue his rehabilitation after two and a half months. Since then, Singh has expressed his desire
to return to national colors and believed that the shortest format of the game would help him explore his ability to return to competitive cricket. Yuvraj started training at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore since he returned.
“I don't want to rush and I don't want to come back at 75 percent. I might take six months, I might take two months. So I don't know. But the day I feel 100 percent I surely will be back.”
Yuvraj Singh was India’s most successful T20 player in the inaugural edition of the tournament which took place in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465 at Kingsmead in a must win game
for his side. He has a T20 average of 31.50 with a strike rate of 151.60, which has made him one of the most formidable T20 players in the history of the game.
India’s 30-man squad also includes T20 stars such as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ambati-Rayudu-c1007 have also been included
in the 30-man list. The list also includes hard hitting batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 is adamant that packing its squad with batsmen which are tailor made to exploit Sri Lankan conditions to the best effect would ensure success in the Emerald Isle. They also have a rare chance to acclimatize to Sri Lankan conditions when they take on
the islanders in the Micromax Cup which starts from July 21.
Yuvraj’s inclusion might boost the Indian batting line up and provide room for availing his bowling prowess. There is skepticism however, over his ability to perform to the optimum level after being almost three months away from cricket. Yuvraj believes
that this itself, will be his real test and battling away with cancer and coming back into cricket at the same time, is going to be a challenge that he is willing to accept.
“Only a cancer patient can understand what he is going through. So it's going to be a big challenge for me to come back and play for India again.”
India last won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 when they narrowly beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in the final at the Wanderers. Since then they had never qualified for the semi finals of the tournament.
