Dhoni and company won the mega event after 28 years for India and became the first team to lift the prestigious trophy at home.
The Indian captain only managed 150 runs in eight matches of the World Cup before the final.
However, he came back good when it was needed the most and struck a historic, unbeaten 91 in the Final. He faced only 79 deliveries for his knock in which he struck eight fours a couple of massive hits out of the park.
Yuvraj said that his skipper was struggling for runs during the mega event but he did not lose heart and kept on working very hard in the practice sessions.
The left hander also revealed that Dhoni was looking in good touch throughout the tournament but was not able to showcase that form during the matches.
He called his captain a ‘bomb’ who was ready to explode on a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Richard-Griffith-c41953 stage and he did that in style, in the final against a strong Sri Lankan bowling attack.   
He said, "He (Dhoni) was not getting big scores in the tournament, but he kept working hard, and did not miss a single practice session. Watching him in the nets gave one the impression that he was a 'bomb about to explode."

“Looking back, I am glad he 'exploded' in the final, and not earlier! He went in ahead of me in that game, but that was purely to keep the left-right combination going in the middle,” Yuvraj added.
The left hander himself had a great tournament with both, bat and ball, and he was also named as the Player of the Tournament.
