Yuvraj Singh wants to make his mark in Test cricket
Just like any other top class cricketer, Indian batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364 has expressed his ambition to become a good Test cricketer as he thinks that the longer version of the sport is the real deal.
Yuvraj has been in and out of Test cricket throughout his career and has so far failed to cement his place in India's playing eleven in Test cricket, which is full of high-class middle order batsmen.
However, the left hander has been a superstar in limited overs cricket. He faced a couple of tough years in international cricket as he was struggling with form and fitness but he bounced back in style in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011 and was named as the
Player of the Tournament.
Yuvraj admits that he made a lot of mistakes in his early days and used to take the criticism very seriously but this is not the case anymore unless it is positive criticism.
He said, “When you are young, you are vulnerable. You don't listen to elders. As you grow, you understand life better. Criticism hurt a lot when I was young. Not anymore. I understand it is part and parcel of the game. But I welcome matured criticism.”
The 29-year old cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 claims that he has the ability to become a top=-class Test cricketer and this is his goal now in international cricket.
He was all praise for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 who helped him a great deal during the time he was struggling for form. Yuvraj said that he would still have been struggling for form without the guidance from the little-master who wanted him to justify his talent
in international cricket.
“I want to prove my mettle as a Test batsman. I have it in me, just need a break. I am looking forward to making an impact as a Test player. That is real cricket. He told me so many things. He was actually more concerned than me. I was struggling for direction.
He showed me the way. He recalled his own lack of form, how he had stopped enjoying cricket and how he emerged from that period.”
