Yuvraj likely to stay out of action for another six months - Cricket News Update
The stylish middle-order batsman of India, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364, is likely to stay out of competitive cricket for another six months due to the ongoing treatment of his non-malignant tumour.
A source close to Yuvraj Singh has revealed that the cricketer is currently in the United States for the treatment of his tumour. The treatment in the US includes the removal of the non-malignant tumour through surgery and once it is successfully removed,
the recovery process will begin.
According to the source, the recuperation process is likely to take six months, ruling the left-handed batsman out of the fifth edition of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL), which commences on April 4th in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
"Yuvraj went to UK and from there has travelled to the United States for an advanced treatment,” a source told media reporters on Wednesday.
“The oncologists who will be treating him in the US will take a call on whether he would undergo surgery or any other form of treatment. But that's for sure, he won't be playing in the IPL," the source added further.
The 30-year-old experienced all-rounder from Chandigarh captained the debutant IPL franchise Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 in the fourth edition last year. Due to his unavailability this year the Warriors will be skippered by someone other than Yuvraj, who may regain full
fitness around August this year.
The source further added that the promising Indian all-rounder, who was adjudged as the Man of the Tournament at the International Council Cricket World Cup 2011 last year, knows his importance for the Indian team and will not risk a comeback before he has
fully recovered.
"Yuvraj is an asset and no one would want to see him rush his comeback,” said the source. “He knows that Indian team still needs his services and won't rush his comeback. The recuperation might take considerable amount of time, may be upto six months," the
source added.
Yuvraj has been out of the national side since November last year due to the lung tumour and was eying a comeback in the upcoming tri-nation Commonwealth Bank Series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. Due to his condition and treatment he will not be able to, and it is a big
loss for India.
