  1. well, first i hope you know that it is impossible to get the value of"X" or "Z" because for any posible number "Z", "X" can be an infinite number of values. The best thing you can get is a "Solve for X" which you already have the answer to.

    With this i am assuming you mean solve for "Z". let's walk through it:

    1. what we want is to have Z by itself on any side of the "=" the way "X" is. To do this we need to try to move all the coeficents (numbers) and "X" to one side.

    2. we follow the order of procedure for math. I like to remember "PEDMAS" Parenthesis, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.

    3. With this in mind lets first do what is in the parenthesis (4+6) = 10, so we rewrite our equation

    z-3(10) = x

    4. we can multiply "-3" by "10" and rewrite our equation again

    z-30 = x

    5. we have done a bit of solving already. One thing you must also know is that you can add and subtract (not to mention divide and multiply) whatever you want so long as you do the same to the other side.

    6. with this in mind let's add "30" to both sides so that we can get rid of the -30 on the side of "Z". let's rewrite our expresion in two steps

    z - 30 + 30 = x + 30

    z = x+ 30

    7 so you can see that "Z" is no by iteself. you just solved for "Z"!
