Hello...It sounds like the the "rack" that controls the number of strikes for the hour, is falling too far so that it strikes 12 for every hour. The only way to repair that is to take the clock movement (works), out of the case because the rack is right beneath the face of the clock in the front. I would suggest taking it in to a clock repair person, because this is probably a little more than you want to get into. It is a simple adjustment, but may take some time to get it in and out of the case.
