Zab Judah: I am ready for whatever Amir Khan brings to the table – Boxing news
The current IBF light welterweight champion Zab Judah is super confident ahead of his unification bout with the current WBA World super lightweight champion, Amir Khan.
Judah and Khan will take on each other in a unification bout this Saturday on July 23, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
The 33-year-old American undisputed champion, Judah, who has won 41 of his 49 professional fights including 28 by the way of a knockout, told the media that he always wanted to be a two weight undisputed champion and this is like a dream come true for him.
The Super, Judah, has already written off the Bolton Belter as a ‘stepping stone.’ He stated he became an undisputed champion at 147lbs and now he is going to do it at 140lbs.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Amir Khan is a great fighter but I think that timing right now is the thing. If I was promoting him, I would not put him in with a fighter with the calibre of Zab ‘Super’ Judah, no way. This is my chance to do what
I have prayed for: become the undisputed champion at two weights.”
He added, “I did it at 147lbs (welterweight) and now I am gonna do it at 140lbs (light-welterweight) – starting with Amir Khan.”
Amir ‘King’ Khan, who has won 25 of his 26 professional fights including 17 by the way of a knockout, is considered as one of the best boxers out there and Judah knows it. He admitted in front of the media that Khan is one of the best combatants but on the
same note, he claimed he is ready to deal with anything Khan brings with him on the fight night.
Judah said, “Amir is an assassin with plenty of speed and power. But whatever he brings to the table, I know I can deal with it because of my experience.”
It is fair to say that this is going to be an explosive fight. Let’s see whether Judah is able to beat his 9-year younger opponent or not.
