Zab Judah should move down to 140

i think he would have a great chance of success down there,

he weighed in at 143 for the fight last night,

so im sure he can still get down to 140,

against clottey his punches had no effect, Clottey was simply too big and strong for Zab to do any damage,

zab gave away 10 pounds in the ring, i think he is too small to compete with bigger guys like Margarito,Clottey,Cintron etc,

there is a big difference in physical strength, they are really 154 pounders at least coing down to welterweight,Zab could have alot more success at 140 but maybe he will stay at 147 because i sure there would be alot more money on the table

  1. Good idea. It's working for Roy Jones.

  2. No, I think he should train harder and fight Clottey again, if he looses then hang it up!

  3. I agree, but the problem is not with judah weight but more so on the fact that he takes damage when he fights. he tries to bob and weave most of his shots instead of blocking the shots. he was winning the fight with clottey until he started to just try and use reflexes instead of conventional blocking to avoid punches. moving down would be pointless if he is not going to block and use defense

  4. Good point there are a lot of exciting fights that could be made at this weight. Ricky Hatton, Kendall Holt, Timothy Bradley, Junior Witter, Demetrius Hopkins and of course the "love child" Julio Diaz.

He hasn't fought any of these guys and with his power may stand a chance at at least beating half of them. Paulie Malignaggi would be a great "stepping stone" to put him in the title picture in this division. Especially since he showed he can be hurt and yet is a legitimate top contender. Zab would be a draw and would make competitive fights at this weight if he could maintain the discipline.

  5. Yea i was totally thinking the same thing when i heard he wayed 143 for the welterweigtht title fight against clottey.  Judah made his career at 140 and was one of the most dominant fighters at 140 along with Tsyu who he got knocked out by.  But the only good win was over Cory Spinks who is a lighthitter and is no elite fighter.  I t hink if judah moves down to 140 and bringing his name would get alot of fighters with title takling because if they fight judah they know they'll get a good pay day.  He would fight guys like Hatton, Malinaggi, Torres, Holt, Koltenik and they would put their names out ther because he is not elite in fighting but he has talent  but he brings his name to the table.
