Zab Judah wants to face Khan once again – Boxing News
Zab Judah, who defeated Vernon Paris in a IBF light-welterweight eliminator match this weekend, is eyeing another match against Amir Khan. According to Zab, Amir Khan has not yet seen the best of Zab Judah and that in their last fight he (Zab) was not up to the mark.
Zab lost to Khan in an IBF and WBA unification fight in July 2011. Khan knocked Judah out in the fifth round. Even though Judah later claimed that he dominated Khan, most analysts believe that it was a one-sided match being led by Khan.
In his recent media interaction, expressing his desire to fight Khan again, Zab iterated, “If Khan beats Peterson again, I would hope I get my due respect. That rematch, if it should present itself, this time the real Zab Judah will show up. I'll be looking to get in there and be very dominant. If he should beat Amir Khan, Lamont is a great friend of mine. "[But] If that should be the case, we'll go in there and do what we've got to do.”
Khan and Peterson are scheduled to face each other on May 19 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. Both the fighters are preparing hard for the big day. Since it will be Amir Khan’s rematch and his last chance to get his unified IBF and WBA titles back from Peterson, he has been eager to unleash his fury on Peterson. Khan previously said that he would be training with Manny Pacquiao in a village.
On the other hand, Peterson said that he is ready to give his life in the ring but not his titles. If Peterson is that determined to defend his titles then Khan should definitely be worried about it. On the other hand, pressure is building up on Khan from Zab Judah’s side as well. If Khan wins the fight, he knows another strict fighter is waiting to challenge him. Moreover, Zab Judah is likely to get his rematch since he deserves a rematch and he can claim it any day. Khan definitely is in a rough patch of his career and he should be wary of the tides for now.
