Zac Alexander claims his eleventh PSA World tour title – Saskatoon Boast Open 2011
The concluding day of the Prairie Autohaus Saskatoon Boast Open 2011 in Canada saw top seeded Australian Zac Alexander drill past the Egyptian born Italian Amr Ramsy Swelim by surviving a mid match slip in the clash of the title.
The challengers had taken up the gauntlet at the PSA World tour Challenger 10, squash event which is in its tenth year at the YMCA in Saskatoon and it took the top seeded Australian fifty two minutes to oust the unseeded Egyptian
born Italian with a score of 11-5, 11-6, 5-11, 11-8.
After winning the toss the 22 year-old Australian had decided to serve first and he held his serve for the first few rallies to take a mini lead on the scoreboard. However, it was a Cross-court volley to back corner from the unseeded
Italian that put the top seed to a halt.  The Egyptian born Italian was then able to reel a few points off of his opponent to tie the score for the initial part of the game but that was all that he could muster and ultimately Alexander bagged the opening round.
The second set of the match was initiated by Swelim and this time he was unable to hold his serve in the first rally and eventually gifted the serve and a point to the top seeded Aussie. From there onwards there was no stopping
the 22 year-old Aussie as he rushed past his adversary toward the finish line and clogged the set with an 11-6 score.
During the third set Swelim finally managed to turn the tables on Alexander. This time Swelim restricted his tins and he in due course broke Alexander to take the lead. He maintained his form from there onwards and Swelim, temporarily
found his game to clinch the third set by restricting his opponent to five points.
After the first three sets, the entire decision depended upon the fourth and final set. The two were pumped up and got into an extremely competitive rally. They constantly bagged their service points and the score progressed on
even terms. However, Swelim once more came under pressure and a series of unforced errors cost him the set and the match.
When all was said and done, the top seeded player had bagged his eleventh PSA World tour title in his career by dismantling Swelim.
