Zach Britton leads Baltimore Orioles to an important win – MLB Update

Baltimore Orioles continued to impress the critics as they crushed the Chicago White Sox 5-3 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland on Thursday, August 30 in the finale of their four match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season.
After Chicago took an early 1-0 lead, Taylor Teagarden homered to right in the third inning to put Orioles on the board. J.J. Hardy also made his presence felt with an RBI doubled to deep left in the third innings. Adam Jones played a key role in deciding
the outcome of the clash with a two run home-run, extending Orioles’ lead to 4-1.
Starting pitcher Zach Britton produced a magical performance as he gave just one run in eight innings for his fourth win of the season.
"It's nice to take this one to New York," said Britton.
"I think Zach will be back," Showalter said, adding, "Zach was hiding from me tonight."
"If he can go out and give you eight innings with no walks, he's going to be hard to beat," Jones said. "That was the most impressive I've seen him."
"Our guys aren't going up there to experience the atmosphere," Showalter said in a post game interview. "They're going to try to compete with the team we're trying to catch."
It was an extremely important win for the Orioles who are now just three games behind the American League East Division leaders New York Yankees. A lot of credit goes to the Manager Buck Showalter who has taken his team out of trouble on a number of occasions
this season.
Beating the White Sox in three out of four games, the Orioles also wrapped up an impressive series victory. It will be interesting to see if they can come up with similar performances in the closing stages of the season to make it to the playoffs.
White Sox, on the other hand, struggled to take advantage of the scoring opportunities that were presented to them. However, despite taking the series loss they are placed first on the American League Central Division standings.
Baltimore will be happy as they managed to take the game and the series against the Chicago White Sox.
