Zach Randolph thrilled with Memphis Grizzlies’ playoff run last season – NBA Update
Zach Randolph was a force to reckon with last season.
The Memphis Grizzlies power forward was especially lethal in the playoffs, when he led his team to a memorable run. The player admitted recently that it was a wonderful feeling tasting that kind of success and also warned the league
that he and his teammates wanted more and will come looking next season.
“It was a great feeling. The feeling was unbelievable. You could feel it. You can still feel it. Winning a playoff, going to the second round, game seven, it just got us hungry.”
The Grizzlies produced probably the biggest upset of the playoffs last season when they dumped out the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs. The Spurs were the first seed in the Western Conference while the Grizzlies
were the last. Add to that the fact that prior to the Spurs series, Memphis had never won a playoff game in 12 attempts, and the achievement becomes all the more significant.
So, when they did achieve the feat in such glamorous fashion, the whole of NBA stood up and took notice. Their journey ended finally at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook powered their
side into the Western Conference Finals in seven games. Z-Bo and his Grizzlies had to go home, but they departed with their heads held high.
Randolph stated in an exclusive interview given to Sports Radio Interviews, that he loved every moment of the playoffs run and it is hard to forget the feeling. He did not stop there and added that his side is not at all satisfied
with the last season and wants to build on it.
The Grizzlies have now set their sights on the NBA World Championship and will leave no stone unturned in their quest for the ultimate prize next season.
“We want to win a championship and to tell you the truth we are really ready to compete. That’s why I say the lockout happens when things are turning around, but once we get back in place we’re gonna be a team to be reckoned with.”
They certainly have the resources to do that. The Grizzlies have a strong unit, full of committed players and if they can remove minor kinks in their armour, they might as well go on to win the championship.
