Zach Randolph will now carry the action for next four years for Memphis Grizzlies: NBA Update
Zach Randolph will now carry the action for the next four years for the Memphis Grizzlies, as he has agreed to extend his career with the Memphis Grizzlies. The deal was signed for US$71 million. US$66 million will be guaranteed for Randolph, but the fourth
and final year of his contract will be an open option for Randolph. Randolph will also be earning the extra-incentives for his individual and team achievements about US$1.3 million every season until 2015.
This welcome extension came for Randolph after the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the San Antonio Spurs with 101-98 on Sunday night AT&T Centre, San Antonio, Texas. Randolph performed brilliantly and posted 25 points and 14 rebounds.
The Spurs' forward, Tim Duncan, also praised Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol in that particular game and said, “Zach played great. He made some great shots with Marc, They're both big bodies and that's what they're game is based on, having those bigs inside.
And them making shots, we have to pay attention to them more, obviously.”
It was a memorable win for the Grizzlies as they snatched a first play-off victory in 13 previous outings. Randolph grabbed the opportunity to mark his awesome display of magic. The Memphis star is certainly a prolific forward and his tremendous performance
led the Memphis Grizzlies into this year’s play-offs.
The veteran Randolph has an average of team-high of 20.1 points and 12.2 rebounds during this season alone. Randolph is also lethal at both ends of the court as his defensive ball-play holds the opposition at distance, while the offensive style of his, crushed
many teams during the regular season. Randolph is determined to outplay the Spurs in this best of seven first round play-off series. Currently the Grizzlies are leading by 1-0 in the play-offs.
Zach Randolph was picked by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2001 NBA draft. He spent six seasons at Portland. He moved into the New York Knicks and played a season. He then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and finally came into the Memphis in 2009.
