Zachary S. Goines selected as the Senior Director of Development Athletics – Athletics news
One of the most experienced athletics fundraiser, who had been earlier serving at the Iowa State University, Zachary S. Goines, has now been given the job to use his skills and attract funds for the University Of Connecticut, Division of Athletics.
Goines was selected as the new Senior Director of Development in the Division of Athletics after a thorough campaign was conducted by the Division of Athletics and University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc.
Taking on the responsibilities of his new job, Goines will now have the crucial task of mapping out and implementing a comprehensive programme, which may ensure the sustainable flow of funds towards the Athletics programme. Complying with the job terms and
conditions, Goines will be reporting to the UConn Foundation and working closely with the administrators, alumni, coaches and friends of UConn throughout the nation.
Talking about this recent appointment, President of the Uconn, Susan Herbst said, “This is a critical moment for the University as we build the future, and private donors could not be more important or more valued. Our student-athletes and our coaches bring
tremendous glory, attention, and respect to this institution and make us so incredibly proud.”
She further added, “They are international ambassadors who exemplify discipline and the highest order of excellence, values shared by this entire community. Zach will work closely with me and with his colleagues across disciplines to make UConn an even stronger,
more powerful university.”
While working for the Iowa State University since he joined it back in 2007, Goines altogether raised an amount of $47 million for the athletics programme of the university, which also included a huge collection of $20 million for the football training facility
and $8 million for building a basketball complex. Moreover, his efforts at Iowa also helped the University to witness a huge increase in annual gifts, which are given to schools for the promotion of athletics at grassroots level.
Before working for the Iowa, Goines had been holding leading fundraising positions at University of Miami and Marquette University.
