Zachary in hebrew letters??

i have a tattoo on my left ankle that is my son's name in hebrew at least i think it is. i got the picture from this website

and was wondering if it actually stood for what i wanted it to

its on my leg the same way as the picture without the backgroung color. just the lines of the letter.

Does this Actually stand For Zachary? thank you

  1. Yes, this does mean Zachary. From left to right, the four letters that are shown are Zayin, Kaf, Resh, and Yud.

    Zayin (pronounced ZYE-in) makes a Z sound.

    Kaf makes a K sound.

    Resh (pronounced "raysh") makes an R sound.

    Yud makes the "ee" sound at the end of Zachary.

    There are no vowels written because in Hebrew, you write the vowels using a system of lines and dots underneath the letters. Fluent Hebrew speakers do not need the vowels - they know what the word or name is. (For example, if I wrote Zchry, you would still know it's Zachary, right?)

  3. i have no idea who that picture is suppose to be Zachary! i found this as being Hebrew letters for Zachary as Zachary is a form of the origional Hebrew name Zechariah:
