Zack Greinke believes the Milwaukee Brewers can topple their injury concerns - MLB Update
If there’s one thing the Milwaukee Brewers will be content about, it is Zack Greinke’s focus and determination. The former Kansas City Royals’ ace, moved his way to the Major League Baseball National League Central division in a mega trade deal, has come
out to say that the Milwaukee Brewers have the confidence to topple their injury problems in the 2011 Major League Baseball.
Though there is no definite time line as to when he may return to the circuit, manager Ron Roenicke is appreciating his concentration in spring training.
"I like what he's doing," manager Ron Roenicke said. "During batting practice, he'll go out and stand on the main field and watch the guys take batting practice. If any of the starters are throwing a bullpen, he's always there, down behind, watching."
While Greinke’s tenure in Phoenix, Arizona, has been limited, he has been on the right track towards recovery. Yovani Gallardo has taken his position on the Opening day mound duties and it is believed he will be able to do his job well.
Greinke’s rib cage injury is thought to be short term and he might find his way back to the club soon with Corey Hart and Jonathan Lucroy, who have rib and finger injuries.
"The team is definitely still really good," Greinke said. "Every team deals with injuries. It's one thing if you're missing half your team, but we're only missing one starter and one or two position players, and all three injuries are short-term. If your
team can't get over that, then it's your own fault. So, we should be fine."
The Brewers are still trying their best to cope with the deficiencies on the roster card. With major players out of the mix, it is left to the rest of the squad to do whatever it can to ease the tension building up in the club. Sergio Mitre was recently
acquired by the franchise and even though he is not a comfortable choice in the line-up, he can still hold the fort down.
