Zack Greinke is the ace in Royals’ till
The winter meetings are progressing well in this year’s Major League Baseball off season period. 30 Teams from the National League and the American League are looking to land the best crop of players from the free agency. However, there are only few top
players available in the market. Type-A agents will surely end up in the pocket of the superior clubs. But with the teams making hasty appeals to these well-regarded ball stars, contingent policies are being considered for the future.
Teams like the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers are fighting hard for the top agent in the market. Cliff Lee is considered the top man in the agency, up for sale but every team knows that if he chooses one clubhouse, the second most highly rated pitcher
will be sought out by the teams. Apparently, the Kansas City Royals have in their possession, one player who can hold the statement true.
Zack Greinke is one of the top pitchers in the American League and his past performance will prove him to be a top attraction in the winter meetings. He’s being considered for a trade and General Manager, Dayton Moore issued a few remarks on the front with,
"I expect it to move slow. We're going to move slow with it until we potentially get the right type of deal, if indeed we move on it."
Moore is apparently waiting for Lee to go to a club before the eye turns to Zack. He laid the possibility of a trade by saying, "I can give you examples,
I won't, but there are examples that we've been close to dealing Zack or other players in the past if we get the right pieces included, and it just hasn't happened."
Moore is right to wait out in the meetings and time can surely raise the value of the player in the coming days. He made more remarks on the situation, saying, "The attention on Zack Greinke, believe it or not, is not any different than it's been in any
offseason or prior to any Trade Deadline. It's the same group of teams that continue to inquire about Zack. The only difference between this year and years past is that Zack has commented from time to time about his particular future in Kansas City or has
voiced an opinion about our baseball team."
