Crystal Palace starlet Wilfried Zaha is understood to be on Arsenal’s radar and the Gunners are expected to make an offer in excess of £7m for the youngster’s services.
The Crystal Palace whiz kid has been the talk of tabloid and newspapers, with reports claiming that he may be on his way to the Premiership, with Arsenal the most likely destination.
The winger recently made his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 scouts in the past few weeks. It is understood that the reports they have given in to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger have convinced him to make a January transfer
move for Zaha.
Various newspapers and journalists in England claim that the club will make an offer of £7m for the player’s services, and will hope that Crystal Palace accept it. However, it is rumoured that the player will cost around £19 million.
The Gunners seem to have hit a stonewall in the contract negotiations with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873, whose current deal expires at the end of this year. The winger is currently the club’s top scorer, and is understood to be on his way out if both parties are unable
to reach an agreement regarding his new contract.
Wenger is keen to add to his attacking options this winter, with his squad failing to create and convert enough chances and suffering from a lack of ideas up front. Currently, Arsenal only have Olivier Giroud and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 in the centre forward department.
Sometimes, Ivory Coast international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 has been deployed in the lone striking role, but this has reaped mixed results, with more often the player being unable to offer the Gunners with the killer edge they so badly need.
Zaha will prefer a move to Arsenal, who are known to provide young players with first team opportunities and help them develop into better players. A move to the Emirates will definitely be the biggest step in the youngster’s career, and will offer Arsenal
with more options going forward.
The English starlet is known for his pace, dribbling skills and his directness. His arrival will be a big boost for the club, and give them considerable depth on the wings.
Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway is however adamant that Zaha will not leave the club in January and was upset with Wenger’s public admiration for Zaha. He said:
"I am going to treat that with the contempt it deserves. He is our player and has a four-and-a-half-year contract so don't speculate on speculation. I'm not going to answer a question 'if'. Really, if is the biggest word in the dictionary, isn't it?
"Just because Arsenal might have said a week ago that they might like him, which I felt was unprofessional, it leads to all this. It would take a lot more than one player going to derail this, but no-one is going."
