Zaheer Abbas, Aamir Sohail condemn Pakistan administration
Despite a much improved performance by Pakistan in the second Test match against England at Birmingham, former Pakistani player http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zaheer-Abbas-c98435 has slammed the manner in which the team has shaped up in recent times. Abbas said that he was afraid that Pakistan cricket was going in the wrong direction thanks to a bad administration.

Speaking to a news agency, Abbas said that it did not matter whether the side won or lost, because it was a part of the game. However, he was fearful of the way the things were being handled in the side, especially those related to transformation.

Abbas pointed out to some of the "knee-jerk" decisions taken by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board that needed to be questions. He said, "Decisions taken in a haphazard manner have been bothering and the state of Pakistan cricket is deplorable.” Abbas blamed the administration for the same and said that it should be revamped immediately.

One of the decisions that Abbas was critical of was the recall of Mohammad Yousuf into the side. Yousuf had earlier been banned by the PCB and he announced his retirement after that. Abbas said that one couldn’t think of any plausible reason why Yousuf was in the team when he had only recently announced his retirement. Abbas also questioned the exclusion of Younis Khan from the side.

Both Yousuf and Younis had been banned indefinitely by the PCB. While Younis appealed against the ban and was exonerated, Yousuf decided to retire from the game. Despite the overturning of the ban, Younis is not in the team whereas Yousuf will play in the third Test match against England at Oval.

Abbas was not alone in the criticism of the PCB. Former Pakistani opening batsman, and outspoken commentator, Aamir Sohail also condemned the Pakistani management. Sohail said that it was the management’s failure that had caused the twin-losses to England in the Tests.

Sohail pointed out to the manner in which the side came out to defend the score of 118 in the second Test match. He said that the side should have got off-spinner Saeed Ajmal to bowl with the new ball, but they hadn’t done so.

Pakistan lost the first Test by 354 runs, whereas the second game saw an improved performance, and yet, the side went down by nine wickets. Pakistan had drawn the previous series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, 1-1.
