Zaheer Khan has made considerable improvement states Anirudh Choudhary - Cricket News Update
Team manager of Indian cricket team, Anirudh Choudhary, was optimistic that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379, the left-arm pacer, will attain complete fitness and will be part of team when they clash against England at Trent Bridge, on Friday, July 29, 2011.
The team manager states that Zaheer has made considerable improvements, but clarified that final decision on whether to rest the pacer or play him will be taken after a meeting with team physio, Ashish Kaushik.
Speaking to media Choudhary said, “He has shown a considerable improvement and we would take a call on him on the eve of the match in consultation with the team physio.”
Zaheer has been an indispensable unit of the Indian bowling brigade. The pacer’s recent performances have been heads and shoulders above any of his countrymen.
The Indian team was hurt very badly by his injury in the first Test. The pacer pulled a hamstring on the opening day of Lord’s Test and the injury hampered him from bowling any further. Zaheer could only manage to bowl 13.3 overs in the whole match.
The English side made full use of Zaheer’s absence and posted a gigantic first innings total of 474, that set the tone of the match.
The 32-year-old pacer commands great respect from the English. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013’s young pacer, speaks highly of Zaheer as well.
During a recent interview, the lanky fast bowler said, “We saw Zaheer in 2007 at Trent Bridge and he caused our batsmen trouble. We know he is a skilful bowler and he would use conditions well. We don't know how he is going to pull up, but we must focus
on what we have got to do.”
The Indian media has been bombarding team management with questions in order to get updates about Zaheer’s condition and to inquire whether the player will be a part of the squad or not.
The left-arm pacer was seen with the rest of Indian team during a practice session. He was accompanied by the team’s physio as well. Zaheer, under the supervision of Kaushik, did a few laps and took a few strides before returning to the dressing room.
From the way Zaheer took part in the practice session, it is evident that it would be a risk playing him. On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447, both of whom suffered from injuries in Lord’s, seemed to be in full flow and will be part of
the squad for the 2nd Test.
