Zaheer Khan ruled out of England series due to a recurrent hamstring injury – Cricket News Update
India’s prime strike bowler, Zaheer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 has been ruled out of the remainder of England tour with a recurring hamstring strain and ankle injury.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on Sunday that the spearhead pacer has failed to recover from the hamstring and ankle injuries and it would take 14 to 16 weeks to recover completely.
“http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379 is suffering from a recurrent right hamstring strain and a right ankle impingement,” said BCCI in a statement.
“He will need at least 14-16 weeks to recover completely. He will therefore not be able to participate in the ongoing Test series and subsequent Twenty20 International and ODI series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013,” the statement read further.
The Maharashtra pacer will soon head back home to undergo a surgery on his ankle, which would be followed by intensive rehabilitation for both the hamstring strain and the operated ankle.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RP-Singh-c87028 has been called up to replace the injured left-arm seamer. The 25-year-old Singh has not made a Test appearance since April 2008 and will face a race to get ready for the third Test of the four-match series, commencing on August
10, at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

13.3 overs, before he was forced to leave the field with a hamstring strain. The Indian spearhead has been out of action since then.
He made a comeback to the ground during the two-day tour game against Northants at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Northamptonshire-c824 but could bowl just three overs before he left the field for treatment and never came back.
The injury-hit Indians are currently trailing 0-2 in the four-match series  and need to win the Edgbaston Test at any cost to save the competition.
