  1. What about Zina-if u want to stick to the Z

  2. Thats a cute spelling but it looks like it should be pronounced Zay-duh. Thats much prettier! Zah-ee-dah is just too hard to pronounce....sorry. Good luck! :o)

EDIT: "also like the name Dea- pronounce Day-ah. which one do you prefer?"

People would definitely pronounce it wrong! It looks like Dee or Dee-uh. How about Deandra? I like Zaida better out of the two though.

  3. Dea is different and unique. But you'd need to find another way of spelling it because most people will say "Dee" as in the letter "D". To me Zaida needs to be spelled different too if you use it. They way you have it now I pronounce it "Zay duh" and that sounds like a name I'd name my pet dog.  Just my opinion tho.. :)

  4. The fact that they are real words does not stop them from being made up names. Dea is a Latin word. It is not a name.

Here's a hint - if you have to tell people how they are pronounced now, think of your poor kid doing that for everyone she meets for the rest of her life. And of all the situations when she won't have an opportunity to do so, when her name is read out wrong in public.

  5. I like it pronounced Zay-da

  6. i have a aunt who is named zaida, she never experienced too much teasing about it, and now that she is way past grade school she is able to appreciate the uniqueness of it.

    it's beautiful and under-used.

she will doubtfully run into another zaida in her life.

  7. How about Zelda? Much easier to pronounce...

  8. Zaida looks too much like Zaide, which is the Yiddish for grandpa.  I would stay far away.

Dea reminds me of Day-oh- tally me bananas.  It's a song.  No good.

Both of them sound made up, like you're trying really hard to be different.

  9. Z NAMES: I hear Zuma is making a comeback.

Sorry, I couldn't resist responding to the list of Z names.

I like the name Zaida, but I too was saying "Zay-dah" in my head when I read it.  It is different, but it isn't too difficult to say.  I do think you will have to correct people and remind them of your pronunciation though.

  10. I think it's a great name, very unique.

I do think there will be pronounceation problems in the future.

We have a little girl called Jaida, which is pronounced [Jay-da].

  11. i think it is absolutely gorgeous!

    zaida michelle is cute.

alot of other middle names would work to though,

but yes i would definitely go with zaida.

  12. I think Zay-da for pronunciation is much better

  13. I'm not exactly sure what i think of the name but if you like the letter z then might i suggest the names:

    Zoey

    Zayler

    Zahara

    Zandra

    Zayne

  14. Her little preschool friends will have a terrible time pronouncing her name, as will everyone else.

    It's kind of pretty though.

  15. No no no. It also causes problems when a name is pronounced so differently from they way its spelled. But then again... i give you props because it is interesting! However, I just do not like it.

I like Zarah, Zena, Zelia (zel-ya) kinda like Delia with a z.

    I like Esperanza too.

Look up some other interesting z names.
