Zaka Ashraf aims to give Pakistan cricket a new direction and a future - Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 aims to revamp Pakistan cricket in order to take the national team at the top.
Believing that PCB’s system and constitution was solid; Ashraf revealed that the people in power charge needed to be scrutinized.
Refusing to tolerate player power, he in an interview with ESPNcricinfo said, "The PCB won't allow any player to offset the unity in the team, and each one will have to be responsible for their own performance. I hope there aren't any groups within the team
but if there is something it will be dealt with strictly.”
“I want to give Pakistan cricket a new direction and a future - a future beyond all the previous tragic incidents. What is required is to have a free and clean environment for cricket with no more room for yet another controversy. I don't find any reason
that Pakistan cannot be the top team in all formats,” he added.
Criticizing the players who were spending more time on giving statements than performing, the PCB chairman said that the board was keeping an eye on the performance of individuals.
From 2008 to 2011 Pakistan cricket saw the worst era of its management as there were numerous disputes between the board officials and the players. However, Zaka is hoping for a brighter future ahead.
In his interview he revealed that he put in place some long-term plans where the main focus is to provide the younger generation of players with the best possible system and training so that when they enter the international arena they can be as good as
any other player.
His biggest aim is to bring back international cricket to Pakistan, which got suspended after a failed terrorist attack on the touring team of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033
and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013. However, Zaka feels the situation has changed where PCB is ready to provide top-notch security to touring teams and avoid repetition of mistakes they made during Sri Lanka’s visit.
