Zaka Ashraf aims to stop incidents like spot fixing in future – Cricket News Update
Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has claimed that he will make sure to stop negatives like spot fixing in the future, as such incidents have deteriorated the image of cricket in the country.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) investigated the matter and found the trio guilty of receiving corrupt payments from agent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed. The players were charged with heavy fines and were also banned for longer periods of time.
This incident hurt the image of Pakistan cricket badly and the team also suffered a lot, losing three top cricketers ahead of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cup 2011.
Prior to the spot fixing controversy, Pakistan were also deprived of playing international cricket on home soil following a terrorists attack in Lahore on the Sri Lankan cricket team.
All these incidents have damaged the image of Pakistan cricket internationally and former chairman of PCB http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 was criticised for being unable to take care of matters properly in the board.
However, Butt’s tenure came to an end in October, 2011 and he was taken over by Zaka, who now aims to improve things for cricket in the country.
According to the newly appointed PCB chief, “The episode like spot fixing caused bad name for the country and it would never be allowed to happen in future. We have to remove the negativity created because of the spot fixing trial and move forward.”
Despite the controversial tenure of Butt, Zaka was thankful to the former chairman for his contribution to cricket.

Pakistan cricket team has been doing well recently under new skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 and the team will be delighted if international cricket returns to the country.
