Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Zaka Ashraf on Friday welcomed BCCI’s announcement regarding clearance to host http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket team in a short limited-overs series between December 25 and January 7.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivasan-c90829, earlier this year gave approval for resumption of the bilateral series. The Indian home ministry also gave its approval for the series, on Tuesday, prompting the BCCI to announce “the tour is on”.
While speaking to media reporters after the BCCI announced the itinerary, Ashraf hoped the resumption of cricketing ties will help improve relations between the two countries.
"We’re happy to be sending our team to India and we’re hoping this new beginning will continue on regular basis," said the PCB chief. "It’s a great development and we’re confident the revival of bilateral ties will also help improve relations between the two countries and increase people to people contact," he added further.
Former Pakistan skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Syed-Zaheer-Abbas-Kirmani-c92392 has advised the Pakistan Cricket Board to appoint some local person as its national batting coach.
Pakistan cricket team’s poor batting show in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abbas-c41488, who is also part of the committee, feels a local candidate should be hired for the role.
"I just feel that we should have a local person as batting coach because we have produced some great batsmen in our country and one of them can easily enough do the job for the national team," said the legendary batsman in an interview today.
Lancashire County Cricket Club on Friday signed a two-year contract with former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 seamer Kabir Ali, in a bid to regain the Division status, which the Red Rose county lost this September.
