Zambrotta confident A.C Milan will bounce back strongly and will challenge for Scudetto: Serie A news
A.C Milan defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluca-Zambrotta-c14831, is confident that his team can still challenge for the Scudetto despite a poor start to the season.
Milan have picked up only five points in as many games thus far and are placed 15th in the league table. The Italian Champions have suffered humiliating defeats against title contenders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in the recent games. However, Zambrotta is confident of his team’s revival and believes that his team will start firing soon.
The 34-year-old admitted that his team played a poor game against Juventus recently but believes that it was all due to fatigue. The Italian Champions have been badly hit by injury crisis and have almost 10 or 11 of their first-team starters missing through different problems. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 defender believes that the injury crisis took its toll on their performances and is hopeful of recovering from it after the international break.
The Italian is confident that the international break will prove to be a blessing for his side and they will find their best form soon.
While talking to the reporters, Zambrotta said, “We played one of our worst games for some time against Juventus. But now there is the international break where we can recharge the batteries because we have played a lot of games in the last month.”
The former Juventus star believes that it is too early to rule out his team for the title as only five games have been played thus far. Milan is six points behind league leaders, Juventus, and Zambrotta is not worried by it.
“We are only six points behind. With three points for a win, you just have to win three or four games on the trot to climb back to the top. You also have to remember that we have faced some strong sides, but we’ll play Napoli and Juventus at home in the second half of the campaign.”
Milan will play Palermo in their next league game on October 15th, 2011.
