Zambrotta happy with Cassano’s improving health and looking forward to BATE game
A.C Milan defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302, is in good health and is hoping for a speedy recovery from illness.
Cassano suffered an alleged Ischemic stroke on the plane after the team was returning from their 3-2 win over A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 recently. The Italian international is in hospital for the past three days and has undergone tests on the mystery
illness. Reports in the media have circulated revealing fears that the former Sampdoria striker might not be able to play again this season.
However, Zambrotta has revealed that Cassano is making positive improvement and his situation is under control. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 star added that the striker is not only a great player but a very inspirational character in the
dressing room as well. He admitted that the rest of the players are also worried for the former Real Madrid star and want to see him returning very soon.
“We know that the situation in under control. That’s what we know thanks to SMS and a few telephone calls. Personally, I sent him a message and he seems fine. Our thoughts are with Antonio not only as a player but also as the man
we know, as a team-mate. In the next few days we’ll decide if we should make him a team shirt.”
The 34-year-old has warned his team against complacency ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash against Belarusian Champions, BATE Borisov, on Tuesday, 01 November 2011.
The Italian Champions are leading the Group H with seven points from three matches played thus far. The former Italian international has insisted that his team should take the game seriously as they need to top their group.
“We can’t take anything for granted as they’re at home and they’ll want a result. We want to get the top spot in the group.”
Milan are level on points with Spanish Champions, Barcelona, and a win in this game will keep them alive in the battle for the top spot finish. Topping the group would mean that they will have to play the runners-up of the group
stages in the next round.
