The Palermo Chief Executive was gracious enough to accept that he had made a terrible error in judgement when he fired the now Bologna manager.
Stefano Pioli’s contract was terminated before the season started. The Rosanero kicked off their season under the coaching of Devis Mangia, but the former Valenzana tactician was later sacked and replaced
by Bortolo Mutti.
The rationale provided by the Renzo Barbera patron was that he was not satisfied with the pre-season training, which propelled him to fire Stefano Pioli off his post.
After his appointment as the Bologna head coach, Pioli strung together a very impressive run of form for the Bolognese outfit, as they have lost just once in their last 11 matches. This has led to a realisation
by Zamparini that he had indeed made a blunder getting rid of the former Modena manager.
In his interview to Radio anch’io, the patron stated his mistake by remarking:
“Sacking Pioli? I’m eating the second t******e now, I have already eaten the first.”
Despite remarking his error in judgement over the decision to get rid of Stefano Pioli, the Palermo chief was supportive of the decision made by his counterpart at Cagliari, who made his third change of tacticians
at the club for the season.
Massimo Cellino replaced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Davide-c10638 Ballardini with former Cagliari coach, Massimo Ficcadenti, and the Aquile chief acknowledged that the move does make sense.
He replied in his interview, commenting:
“It’s a matter of psychology. Often if the team is in trouble, the only option is to shake up the Coaching set-up. Cellino has seen his Cagliari in crisis and acted accordingly. I understand it, I do it too,
but often the choice pays in the end.”
However, Zamparini was of the opinion that he will more chances to the current Palermo manager, who is going through a tough period. He gave hope to Mutti by remarking that he still has time to prove his
worth and further remarked:
“We are in a difficult spell at the moment but I’m sure that the team will pull together. I was hoping to reach 40 points, but despite the space given to the number of youngsters we have brought in they have
been unable to express themselves so far.”
It has been a merry go round season for the managers in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, as 15 of them have been sacked this season.
