The Inter skipper is roaring to have a positive start to the season after a poor campaign last year, and he stated on the importance of the grooming the youngsters.

Inter had a glorious 2010 season where they created history by winning the treble, which included the Serie A title, UEFA Champions League and the Coppa Italia. After their talismanic manager, Jose Mourinho, left the San Siro outfit, the club went in free
fall as they did not invest in youth and let go of their prized assets.

He was quoted to have said:
“It always means a lot to wear these colours as we embark on a new season – I hope that's the case not only for me, but for the whole squad.”
Furthermore, he went on to mention that with the growing number of youngsters in the side, the responsibility lies with the senior players to mentor them and make sure they don’t get sidetracked in their ambitions to make it big.
He also went on to state:
“There are a lot of youngsters here, apart from me of course! All jokes aside, these lads have shown what they're capable of and now we all hope they'll continue to do so.”
