Zanny -for xanax?? for kids?

in this case on the news they are saying maybe this girl overdosed her daughter w/ xanax, because she says she left her with the neighboy "zanny" and now she's missing (and prob dead) do people give their kids xanax?? is that commin at all??

I don't think kids should be prescribed any mood altering drugs, most times they're just being kids.  There are ADHD meds that say they can prescribed to kids as young as 4... how the h**l do you diagnose a kid that young with ADHD?  I could have sworn all the symptoms of that are the same ones as being 4 years old in general.  It's just for parents who don't know how to parent and control their kids.

i take it for anxiety and stress, and ive heard of giving it to kids when they get a little bit older (around 16) especially girls for PMS

i remember taking 1/8th of a pill and i was tripping balls! but i know people who take like 5 of them and are perfectly find. it all has to do with the person taking them

Yes, many kids take 0.25mg of xanex daily for anxiety disorders, OCD (anxiety based), PTSD, and autistic spectrum disorders.  In a typical kindergarten class there are 1-2 kids taking xanex.

Those saying that they would NEVER give it to a child probably can't imagine what my autistic son goes through to go to the dentist who is a pediatric special needs dentist.  He has to be consciously sedated which isn't covered by insurance because he is so terrified and distressed and suffering that he requires being physically restrained in a papoose board on a heart monitor and we had to stop because his heart rate was so tacky it was not safe(tachicardia-elevated heartrate).

Xanex is an anxiolytic, not a mood stabilizer.

I've never heard of giving kids xanax. I've had to take it and my hubby takes it for anixety but would NEVER give it to a child.
