  1. I literally was asking myself the same question just a few hours ago.  After talking to an expert at the Skim Shop (http://www.skimshop.com/) here is what I found...I'll save you the technicals and will just give you the bottom line...

Zap Pro - Lighter and (IMO) has a better core.  Kinda feels floaty on the water...like your hovering on top of it.  This will make you feel as if your going very, very fast.

Victoria Ultra - Heavier and made with a surf board foam core (which if you get a crack in your skim board and water gets to the foam you can have bad damage because the foam like melts away when water hits it (just as surfboard cores do)).  You will feel like your more "one with the water" as you'll be more plowing through it instead of hovering on top of it.   This will give you some great turns though.

BOTH - Both boards will get you about the same distance into the water...and neither board seem to have an advantage in that sense.  IMO Victoria carries a better name...but as for Zap...this particular board and particular shape seems to have been ridin' by everyone important in the sport at one particular time or another.  It's a great beginner/intermediate board (mind you intermediate riders are catching waves, barrels, airs, etc).  If you get heavy into the sport I guarantee you'll be buying a much higher end board later.

In the end I bought a Zap Pro.

Hope this helps...feel free to email if you have any questions.
