Question:

Zapping Plasma Ball?

Plasma balls are those cool glass balls that when you touch them a current is sent to your hand but you don't feel it. I remember my middle school science teacher had a cooler one though. it was big and we had to stand on a rubber platform so the current wasn't grounded and it made our hair stand up. If we jumped off the platform we'd get zapped. Is it just a larger plasma ball or something else? Where can I buy it?

  1. Any static generator would do that. It could be a bit pricey to buy.

See the link on the Van de Graaff generator  below.

  2. van de graaf generator. buy one from from one of the links.

I would assume that a plasma ball can stop working since nothing is indestructable. It is a vacuum so a tiny leak somewhere wil destroy it, internal electroincs can have problems, etc.
