Has anyone ever tried making Zatarain's in the crock pot? How did it work? What modifications are necessary from the box instructions?

  1. I wouldn't say a definate NO, but probably not, because rice has to cook fast and removed from the heat, or it will turn into a mushy mess.

It only takes 25 minutes to make it the regular way, what's wrong with that way?  8/9

  2. crock pots are for slow cooking.. and this is not required with the type of rice you are cooking or any type of rice... it will make it mushy and water logged.

the only rice that comes great in the crock pot is rice pudding that I make..

    stove top is better

  3. It's a boxed mix!  You make it in less than 1/2 hour, so how could you cook it for hours in a crockpot?  You'd have mush then.......
