The former Bayern Munich midfielder has hit out at the Brazilian club for ignoring his desire to start a second-spell in Brazil with Santos.
Former Bayern Munich and Brazil midfielder, Ze Roberto, has revealed his disappointment after Santos failed to offer him another spell at the club. The 37-year-old had previously expressed his desire to play again for the Brazilian
club after representing them for one-year (2006-2007) before signing for the Munich giants in 2007.
The Brazilian mentioned that he expected the Brazilian side to react positively to his desire of playing with them next season. He admitted his affection for the Peixe but told that he cannot wait longer to hear a word from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858
especially at this stage of his career.
However, he still mused that it will be an honour for him to represent his former club for one more time as he wants to end his career in Brazil. While speaking to Lance, the four-time Bundesliga winner further added:
"My word has crashed back down to earth, and the priority I had previously given to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-c5280 Ribeiro]
that, if I was to return to Brazil, Santos would have priority."
On the other hand, Santos president, Ribeiro insisted that the midfielder is always welcome at the club. However, he stated that things have changed at the Vila Belmiro since the officials held talks with Roberto and it will be
up to head coach, Muricy Ramalho, to decide if he wants the ageing Roberto in his squad or vice versa.
"Santos are interested in seeing him come back. We need to talk with Muricy [Ramalho]. At the start of the year he approved the transfer, but the team has changed since then and five months have passed," the President concluded.
