Has anyone else seen this movie:

If not, it'll take an hour but it's really fascinating - weather you believe it all or not.

I'd be interested to know what others think of it.

  1. Part 1 is a mixture of alleged facts, fiction and astrology intended to directly challenge to the foundations of Christianity to the point of being anti-Christian.

If you're a Christian, you'll hate it and find it threatening.

If you are anti-Christian, you may enjoy it.

Part 2 is a collection of 9/11 government conspiracy allegations.

If you believe that sort of thing, you'll feel validated.

If you're looking for something objective and adding insight, you won't find it here.

Part 3 is a collection of anti-Fed conspiracy theory rhetoric.

If you revel in that sort of thing, you'll love it.

If you are learned person in economics or history, you'll be appalled at the lack of regard for factual information.

    In summary:

If you like one-sided diatribes on the above topics with little regard for facts, you might enjoy it.

If you're looking for objective scholarly insights, you won't find it here.

Here is a web site (under construction) that is collecting rebuttals to the movie: http://webskeptic.wikidot.com/zeitgeist

  2. I had never seen this before but its how I live my live and think its the secret to a happy and fullfilled life.

Your past memories will always make you unhappy and disappointed because if you think of a happy memory you will soon long for that to happen again and therefore bring you down and become disappointed. And if you think of a bad memory then that will also obviously bring you down. It is the same with future thoughts as our expectations never turn out exactly as we plan them, which obviously brings disappointment. Stay with the present moment and accept what is rather than trying to change what is into something that is not. Deal with your past memories and jump forward in to the present without baggage so that you are light enough to walk on water.

The past is dead, the future is imaginary happiness can only be in the eternal NOW moment. Why destroy your present happiness by a distant thought of misery, which may never come at all. So no WE cannot be conscious without thought but living with consciousness in the present moment can be where thought is absent.

  3. I wouldn't say it's important until it has some sources and citing.  Some of the things it claims are just plain false.  It links things that happened hundreds of years apart, saying the latter followed the earlier (which, quite obviously, is chronologically impossible/false).

  4. Zeitgeist is a MOVIE.  Its objective is ENTERTAINMENT.

Certainly, it inspires critical thinking about some important REAL issues.  Warning people about globalization and the New World Order is generally a good thing.  HOWEVER, as a source of information, the movie is incomplete and full of mistakes and therefore should not be viewed for research purposes.

Its factually incorrect Part I is offensive to Christians.  One must wonder why that part was included at all.  The effect of its inclusion is to anger many Christians, and discourage their viewing the remainder of the movie.

While the remainder of the movie certainly inspires critical thinking about important REAL issues, one must remember that it is ENTERTAINMENT and as such, it cannot be relied on as a complete and totally accurate source of information.

There are plenty of fact-based free documentaries available to inspire critical thinking.  These ones may interest you.

//I would caution that the web link posted by GRAY SHADOW is clearly using the discussion of Zeitgeist, the Movie, as an EXCUSE to propagate a great deal of DISINFORMATION about important REAL issues, including the War, 9-11, the Federal Reserve and globalization.

Pay no attention to that site. For every site containing such disinformation, there are thousands presenting the truth.  Do your own research, and apply critical thinking to what you learn.

Watch Zeitgeist if it interests you, but do so only for ENTERTAINMENT.

  5. i don't "believe" it simply because it's not accurate in any way.

Christ wasn't a copycat, you can do research, real research and see the parallels fall apart.

Their OWN faq says something along the lines of "well of course you can't find any of this in an encyclopedia or other reliable source"

    9/11 wasn't a conspiracy

and i've never watched past that, since it's batting 0-2

  6. I think it's a very important move and many people will have many different opinions on it.

I think it's important that people at least listen to it, hear what it has to say, and digest that info.  It p*sses me off that people don't give it the time of day.
