Zelos Diktator set to shine for Sean Curran - Plumpton’s Hannes Kinigadner Handicap Hurdle Preview
There are surely ifs and buts about almost every runner in Monday’s Hannes Kinigadner Handicap Hurdle at Plumpton. So, it is hard to trust even those with the best odds. According to our calculations, Zelos Diktator has the best chance of creating a mega
upset.
The 6-year-old makes plenty of appeal for his C&D triumph off the same mark back in September 2011. Despite the fact that the son of Diktat completely lost his momentum thereafter, it is not possible to overlook the chances he possesses.
After staying out of action for almost eight months, the A. White-owned is making his comeback under the care of new trainer, Sean Curran. The brown gelding was awful on his last two rides. On the second of this year, he pulled up.
Failing to show any improvement, he unseated his rider at Towcester last time in March. Things have not worked out well for him since last September, but no one should take him lightly on his debut for Sean Curran.
A total of nine horses have made it to the final line-up. The competition will be for a prize of £2,053. On good to soft two miles and two furlongs, the participants will begin the action at 14:50 GMT.
On The Feather is also making some appeal. Jim Best’s trainee tasted C&D success last month, and although he could not do well last time out, one must keep him in the calculations. Gilded Age has a lot to prove after doing nothing special on the recent comeback.
Petit Ecuyer has won a handicap chase here in April and therefore, should not be taken lightly. But the best effort is required to do the trick. Beggar’s Opera has showed some class in four hurdle runs, but the claims for the first rank are not bright.
On the other hand, Just Beware looks to be more of a place than win contender. On her latest start, the Zoe Davison-trained sealed a comfortable victory here last time, but a 7lb rise will be hard to overcome.
Ede’s is coming back from a long break. Trained by Pat Phelan, the 12-year-old looks interesting on his previous old form, but any impact on his part is unlikely.
